About this Event
How is mainland Chinese LGBTQIA+ diaspora really doing in London? What challenges do we face, how do we find community, and what does it mean to (re)build a life here?
Join Queer China UK for the launch of our first community research report:
📖 How Are We Doing in London? — A Report on the Lived Experiences of Chinese LGBTQIA+ Diaspora from Mainland China Vol. 1
Volume 1 explores a range of topics, including mental health, financial and housing challenges, language and cultural adaptation, discrimination and violence, visas and immigration policies, social relations and intimate relationship.
We hope this report can help make our experiences more visible and provide first-hand evidence and insights to help related organisations and institutions develop support systems that are more culturally sensitive and responsive to people’s multiple and intersecting identities.
Come along to hear about our research journey and key findings and join the conversation. Whether you’re part of the community, a service provider, a researcher, an ally, or simply curious to learn more, you’re welcome.
