EVENT DETAILS

One room. Five classes. Four artists. Last song at 3 AM.

Peiwei and James Cobo are teaching salsa, and this is Peiwei's first time teaching in Texas. Brenda Rodriguez and Alejandro Benedetto are teaching bachata, and they will be at the pool with us in the afternoon. DJ Plaziuz has the music all night.

If you have been waiting for a reason to dance downtown until sunrise, this is it.

Heads up on the price you see first: the "from $28" is a room deposit, not a pass. Passes start at $80.

THE DAY

WHY THIS WEEKEND EXISTS

Friday morning we present the inaugural class of the Ritmo Honors over breakfast: four categories, five honorees, and Lee receives the first Teaching Legacy Award. It has its own ticket page because it is its own event, but it is not a separate world. The Weekender + The Ritmo Honors Breakfast pass puts you at both, or you can buy a breakfast seat on its own if Friday is the part you care about.

FRIDAY IS ALREADY YOURS

Every Weekender and Weekender + The Ritmo Honors Breakfast pass includes Friday morning, 10:00 AM to noon. Blanca Flores teaches a beginner class, then it turns into a social. Free with your pass, and it is the easiest place all weekend to meet people before the room gets loud.

If you have the breakfast pass, your Friday starts at 8:00 instead: seated breakfast, the Honors, and a performance by Bri, who is also dancing Saturday night.

The rooftop pool party comes only with a Weekender pass, the breakfast pass, or a room package. It is not part of a social-only ticket, it cannot be added at the door, and it is not sold separately under any circumstances.

PERFORMING THIS WEEKEND?

Get your discount code from your instructor or team director. Codes go to full teams through their director, not to individual performances, and we do not give out free individual passes. A code takes a percentage off whatever the price is that day — it does not hold today's price, so buy before September 14. Studio and team directors, email us and we'll set your team up.

STAY IN THE HOTEL

Two nights at The St. Anthony, Friday and Saturday, with everything in both days included.Priced per person, so split a room four ways and the whole weekend runs about $235 each. That rate holds through October 9, then $255 until packages close October 15.

Nobody drives home at three in the morning. You take the elevator.

If you live here, this is a staycation twenty minutes from your house. If you are coming in, it is the whole trip on one receipt.

There is no public booking link for this weekend. We build the rooming list ourselves and the hotel books from it, so you get the bed you actually asked for. Want to come in early or stay late? Extra nights run Tuesday November 10 through Tuesday November 17 at exactly what the hotel charges us, no markup, split however many of you are in the room.

Room packages close October 15. Payment plans close October 9.

THE ARTISTS

Peiwei Cobo is co-director and choreographer of CoboBrothers Dance Co. She won first place Professional Salsa Ladies Solo at the 2023 SUMMIT Championship and first place in Pro-Am Ladies Team Shines at SUMMIT 2025. This is her Texas debut.

James Cobo co-founded CoboBrothers Dance Co. and has been teaching Salsa On2 since 2000. He has taught and performed at festivals and congresses across the US, Europe, Asia, and Oceania since 2001, and a lot of North Carolina's best salsa dancers came through him.

Brenda Rodriguez is a Cuban dancer and instructor and the owner of BachaDIVA, a heels based bachata method built around confidence and body control. She teaches out of Bachata Sensual Orlando in bachata, salsa, heels, and reggaeton, and has taught in the US, Mexico, and South Korea.

Alejandro Benedetto is a Venezuelan dancer and instructor who teaches bachata, casino and timba, and salsa on2. His focus is musicality, catching accents and dancing inside the music instead of on top of it.

Blanca Flores teaches the Friday morning beginner class. No experience and no partner needed.

DJ Plaziuz is on the music. More DJs to be announced.

BEFORE YOU COME

Bring a swimsuit. The pool is heated and it runs from three to six.

Bring shoes you can actually move in.

Drink specials all night at the bar and at the pool.

No outside food or drink. The hotel handles all of it.

PARKING

Buy your parking through us. Two nights of in and out at the hotel garage is $35, or Saturday night only for $20.

Valet at the hotel runs $69 a night, and overnight parking normally does not include in and out, so every time you leave and come back you pay again. This is the cheapest way to park in the building.

Parking closes October 10 because we have to give the garage a count. There is no door option.

If you miss the cutoff, the hotel bar and restaurant validate valet when you buy a drink or a meal. Make a reservation and park on them.
