An new original musical set in Memphis, Tennessee
Rats the Musical, by playwright and composer Emily Rooker, is a new podcast musical that takes place in a near-distant future Memphis, Tennessee. Rats tells the story of three roommates - John, Chloe and Amber, who accidentally become rats in a spontaneous musical ceremony. The three of them must navigate the rat underworld of Memphis, interacting with Isabel, the high priestess, Jack, the kingpin of the rat mafia, and Charmaine, a drifter who has more to her than meets the eye.
Rats Immersive Reading presented by BVO
This immersive reading presentation will take place at Baron Von Opperbean, an immersive adventure experience that unfolds like an open-world game in a real-world environment.
Rats Immersive Reading Presented by BVO will combine the silly, fun, musical world of Rats with the magical, immersive environment of BVO for a one-of-a-kind experience.
Event Details
6:30PM - 7:00PM | Cocktail Reception: Guests will enter the lobby of BVO and enjoy champagne before entering the immersive reading
7:00PM - 8:30PM | After being transformed into rats like the protagonists of our story, guests will enter the rat underworld. Local actors will perform a reading of Rats the Musical while guests freely explore BVO. Guests can choose to watch the actors perform, or listen to the story unfold over the speakers as they crawl around like rats.
8:30PM - 9:00PM | Guests can interact with the actors, talk to the creator of Rats, Emily Rooker, and learn more about Baron Von Opperbean from BVO team members. Then, guests can go off to proclaim the glory of Rats the Musical and BVO to their friends and family!
