Join us for an in-person discussion on race, class and conviviality.About this Event
It is over 20 years since the publication of Paul Gilroy's seminal After Empire: Melancholia or Convivial Culture? We are now faced with a drastically different social context, but Gilroy's conceptualisation of conviviality is still generative within the academy and beyond.
This event will explore the changing context and think through conviviality - our capacity to be at ease with difference - as it emerges in towns and cities across the UK, as well as charting new inflections that require attention today.
