The MBS Professorial Lecture Series will bring together professors from across the school (with expertise in Education, Therapies, Community Studies and Psychology) to discuss how their work has impact in the world.
The Autumn 2026 event brings together Professor Claudia Bernard and Professor Rebecca Charlton to talk about how their research draws on and is applied to real-world problems. Join us to hear presentations from Claudia and Rebecca about their individual work with children and adults. This will be followed by a conversation about the importance of applying research to overcome social problems and hearing the voices of people with lived experience in their work.
Professor Claudia Bernard is a Professor of Social Work in the School of Mind Body and Society. She is a qualified social worker and her work focuses on safeguarding children, child welfare and inequalities.

Professor Rebecca Charlton is a Professor of Psychology in the School of Mind Body and Society. Her work focuses on the challenges middle-aged and older autistic people face when accessing health and social care.
