Ride the Rhythm is a community-based conscious movement experience exploring authenticity, presence & inner connection through shared dance
About this Event

Prismatic is an invitation to embrace the fullness of who we are, in all our shades, contrasts, and possibilities. It invites us into the many colours of our own expression—the shifting moods, sensations, energies, and emotions that move through us.

Like light passing through a prism and revealing a spectrum of colours, the dance invites us to explore the different layers of ourselves that emerge when we give the body permission to move freely. There is no need to choose one way of being, one emotion, or one expression. We can shift, expand, soften, intensify, and transform.

Through rhythm, movement, and music, we will explore the richness of our inner spectrum—meeting whatever colour is present and allowing it to have its moment on the dance floor.

The invitation for the evening is to take a moment to set an intention for your practice. You might ask yourself: What colour wants to move through me today? What part of me is asking to be expressed? What am I ready to let move through my body? There is nothing to figure out or achieve; simply notice what is present, and give yourself permission to let it move.

Meet Hassti Hamidi

Hassti Hamidi is a conscious Dancer, DJ, and space holder devoted to the transformative power of music and movement. As the founder of Ride the Rhythm, a conscious movement practice in Vancouver, she curates dance journeys that invite people to reconnect with their bodies, emotions, and authentic expression. Her musical style blends global sounds, ambient textures, and melodic electronic rhythms to create an unfolding arc on the dance floor. Through these experiences, Hassti invites participants to move beyond thinking and into feeling, where movement becomes meditation and community becomes a space for connection and shared presence.

What is Conscious Movement Practice/ Ecstatic Dance?

Conscious Movement Practice is a unique style of dance that is all about free expression and letting your body move to the beat of your own drum. Unlike traditional dance classes, there’s no choreography to follow or steps to learn. Instead, it’s all about letting go and allowing the music to guide you, enabling authentic movement exploration. Conscious Movement Practice has been demonstrated to help with stress and anxiety reduction, promoting alignment of mind, body, soul, and spirit. During a Conscious Movement Practice session, you’ll find yourself surrounded by a community of like-minded individuals who share a passion for movement and self-exploration. Everyone, regardless of their dance experience, is welcome to participate and enjoy the fun.
