About this Event
In this workshop we will be block printing a design onto cotton fabric. We will then explore a variety of fairly basic embroidery stitches. You will be encouraged to experiment with different stitches on to a small piece of fabric first before working on your printed design. Suggestions will be made as to how to finish and display your completed piece of work. We are also looking to offer a follow-up workshop in the New Year to make the completed stitched designs into a bookcover. Please do speak to Geraldine about this at the workshop. The tutor for this workshop is Geraldine Priest, an experienced textile artist, dressmaker and textile teacher,. Geraldine lives in Berkshire and so isn't often here to be able to offer workshops, so don't miss out on this opportunity. You don't need to have done any block printing before, nor do you need to be an expert at hand stitching. You will be given plenty of demonstrations and encouraging support throughout the two hour session.
