About this Event
In today’s rapidly changing immigration landscape, effective advocacy requires both strong legal knowledge and practical courtroom skills. Preserve & Defend: Practical Advocacy Skills for Immigration Advocates is a full-day, in-person conference at Fordham Law School on Monday, December 7, 2026, designed to equip immigration advocates with the tools they need to represent clients effectively and safeguard due process.
Hosted by The Legal Aid Society in partnership with the Feerick Center for Social Justice, the conference will feature mock hearings, live demonstrations, and interactive discussions focused on key advocacy challenges, including detention and youth cases, issue preservation for appeal, client preparation, and responding to difficult circumstances in immigration proceedings. Participants will also have opportunities to network with peers, share resources, and learn from experienced advocates and experts from across the field. CLE credit will be available.
