😊 My Prep Readiness Program is a little different to what children experience at kindergarten. It’s designed as a snapshot of school life, giving children a gentle introduction to what learning in a Prep classroom will actually look and feel like.We use mini whiteboards, pencils, books and classroom-style activities to practise things like listening to instructions, sitting and focusing for short periods, putting your hand up, taking turns, completing a task independently and having a go even when something feels tricky.
We also work on the practical skills that make such a difference when children start school, like managing their school bag, opening their lunch box, carrying their belongings and putting on their shoes.
It’s not about getting children ahead of the Prep curriculum. It’s about helping them understand “This is what school feels like” and building the confidence, independence and readiness to step into Prep knowing what to expect. 💜
