“Plants that provide food for pollinators from fall through spring” – Heather Stoven (OSU)
Planting for pollinators is gaining steam, as gardeners are learning to appreciate the diversity and benefits that pollinators bring to the garden. In western Oregon, we are fortunate to have a mild enough climate that bees can be seen on warm winter days, and Anna’s hummingbirds are seen zipping through the garden all year. This presentation will focus on plants which bloom in the off-season, from late fall through early spring, enabling gardeners to support pollinators year-round.
1 PM — “Enhancing Habitat, Resilience, and Beauty in the Garden: Manzanitas and Companion Species” – Michelle Loughran (Dancing Oaks Nursery)
Discover how Manzanita and complementary native plants can transform gardens into vibrant, resilient ecosystems. This talk highlights plant combinations that provide year-round beauty, support pollinators and wildlife, and thrive with minimal water and maintenance.
2 – 4 PM — Join us for our festival! We will have live demonstrations and exhibits on seed saving, mason bee cocoon harvesting, host trees, pollinator biology, kids activities and more!
ALL DAY — Native plant sale and local vendors!
