K has an injury with no obvious cause. When the Xray, the MRI, and the ultrasound provide no answers, K visits Dr. Ward, a mind-body pain specialist. Dr. Ward tells her the pain is coming from her mind, and so it can only be fixed with her mind. Her problem is that she’s stuck imagining herself with this body, and with this pain. If she’s able to envision her body in other forms, she’ll be able to transform it. Luckily, the doctor’s got a treatment for that: part drama therapy, part physical therapy, part therapy-therapy, he calls it the Ward Method. Today’s the first session.

Windy loves painting her nails, being fifteen, goofing off with her BFF, and every one of her American Girl dolls. But loving AG is totally embarrassing until it leads you to Internet fame and sexting A Boy and then it’s -- what, exactly?
THEY BOTH REACHED FOR THE GUN
by Talya Braverman
October 10th, 8pm
A.R.T. /New York South Oxford Space, The Great Room
138 South Oxford Street
Brooklyn, NY 11217
Anya just adopted a dog and Josie has a long term boyfriend. Anya is going to buy a gun and Josie is studying for the bar. Anya bought a gun and Josie is worried about Anya, who is worried about her dog, who is worried about the strange man that threatens her through violent jazz. An absurd play with music, THEY BOTH REACHED FOR THE GUN is about the choices we make to feel safe, secure, and powerful.
We're offering an early-bird bundle of all 3 plays for $25! You only need to purchase this kind of ticket under one date, and someone from Harlot will email you to confirm your attendance at all 3. Act fast, 3-in-1 tickets must be purchased by September 10th!
Plays to Watch Out For is a new-work development series prod by Harlot. We offer emerging writers the time, space, and resources to develop a new play through a weeklong rehearsal period, culminating in a public reading. We hope to provide these writers with the support, collaborators, and documentation they need to ready their script for its next phase of life. Harlot is a new theatre company developing experimental, vicious, and pointedly tacky work from emerging playwrights, focusing on offering opportunities to writers who approach gender and sexuality from the margins.
