26 years of performing across Newcastle, ~20 venues, and the story keeps unfolding. On Wednesday, 11 November, I’m heading back to Tyneside for a double bill at The Central Bar in Gateshead, presented by Jazz North East.
This night brings together two projects with deep personal connections:
NOONWARD (Sean Noonan & Alex Ward):
Alex Ward and I have have rare concerts and this is our first time appearing here as a duo. Our collaboration grew out of informal improvisations into dedicated compositions written specifically for this combination.
Expect a wide, surprising stylistic terrain—ranging from explosive rock energy (like Ward’s "Packed" or my "Circle Of Willis") to subdued, evocative melodicism ("Leaf Count" / "Funnel Weaver"). It’s an intricate blend of multi-part structural composition, live improvisation, and my vocal storytelling woven throughout.
 Sharing the Stage with Friends:
We’re double-billing with my dear friend Lyndon Owen and his band Plague Doctors Cure All (featuring Lyndon on sax/EWI, Will Cass on guitar, Tom Callinswood on bass, and Barry Edwards on drums). Lyndon programmed NOONWARD at the Queen's Head in Monmouth, so bringing this energy together for a North East audience feels like a pre-determined match.
