About this Event

Picnic agus Pop-Up Gaeltacht

Deis iontach blaiseadh a fháil ar ealaíona Gaeilge faoin aer le togha na ndamhsóirí (Rithim an Rince, grúpa Sean-Nóis agus Rince Seit ó Scoil Uí Riada i gCill Choca), ceoltóirí agus an t-aos liteartha féin.

Beidh an phicnic Ghaeilge seo ar siúl i measc na gcrann agus faoin gceannbhrat mór taobh amuigh d’Fhoirgneamh Hume ar an gCampas Thuaidh. Is féidir do lón féin a bheith leat nó greim bia a cheannach ó cheann de na stainníní iontacha bia sráide a bheas ar fáil ar champas, sin agus scoth an damhsa agus an cheoil a bhlaiseadh. Imeacht é seo atá an-oiriúnach do theaghlaigh, cairde bíodh siad sin ceathairchosach nó déchosach.
Beidh an-fháilte romhaibh chuig an tráthnóna seo a bheas lán spraoi ealaíon agus cultúir. Agus beidh mic oscailte ann, mar sin de, beidh faill ag gach duine páirt a ghlacadh sna himeachtaí má bhuaileann an fonn thú – i measc cairde a bheas tú, i ndeireadh na dála.

Picnic and Pop-Up Gaeltacht

A wonderful opportunity to experience an outdoor performing arts picnic through the through the medium of Irish with guest dancers (Rithim an Rince Sean Nós and Set Dancing group from Scoil Uí Riada in Kilcock), musicians, and literary guests.

This Irish-language picnic will take place among the trees and under the large canopy outside of the Hume Building on the North Campus. Attendees can bring their own picnic lunch or avail of the wonderful street food which will be available on campus, while enjoying the best of traditional music, song and sean-nós dance performances. Perfectly suited for families, friends (including any furry ones you might care to bring along.)

All very welcome to this fun-filled, afternoon of Irish arts and culture. Oh, and there’s an open mic, so everyone will have the opportunity to perform if the mood takes you – you are after all, among friends.
