For Sofia, music is more than just performance—it is a way to express and navigate emotions, a constant source of inspiration in daily life. She believes in the power of music to connect people and evoke deep feelings, and she strives to share this experience with audiences through her playing.
Sofia Berdnik was born in Russia and is currently in her third year of piano study at the Royal College of Music, London, where she is an RCM Somers-Mountfort Scholar supported by the Kenneth and Violet Scott Scholarship. She previously studied music in the Gnessin Moscow Special Music School and the Gnessin Russian Academy of Music.
Sofia has won prizes at different national and international competitions, including the Rotary International Music Competition. She participated in the International Forum of Pianists “Bieszczady bez Granic”, where she performed with Orchestra as a soloist in the different cities of Poland, and she also took part in a piano festival in Spain. Additionally, Sofia took part in the programmes of Vladimir Spivakov International Charitable Foundation, and she performed in the different concert halls in Moscow.
In addition, Sofia takes part in college projects, performing concerts and master classes on a regular basis at the Royal College of Music. She enjoys playing solo and chamber with violinists, flutists and other instrumentalists. Her repertoire includes music from Baroque to the 20th century. She also plays harpsichord

The London Sketch Club’s concerts aim to give promising musicians the opportunity to perform pieces of their choice in an informal setting while members and guests spend an enjoyable afternoon. The concert is relaxed, so music lovers of all ages are welcome. There will be music, tea, coffee and biscuits.
The London Sketch Club is a lively private members’ club for both professional and amateur artists. The club holds life drawing and portrait sessions where members, and non-members, sketch and draw in a unique convivial atmosphere. We also hold concerts for members and the public.
