About this Event
Philly Side Hustle Lab: From Corporate Skill to Client Cash
Turn the professional skills you already use into a service people can understand and buy.
You may already have a valuable consulting or freelance skill.
The harder questions are usually:
- What exactly should I offer?
- Who would actually buy it?
- How should I explain the value?
- What should I charge?
- How do I find the first conversations without turning into a full-time salesperson?
Philly Side Hustle Lab is a structured working mastermind for corporate professionals who want to explore building a consulting, freelance or specialized B2B service around expertise they already have.
Instead of starting with random side-hustle ideas, the session starts with your existing professional experience.
That might include:
- Operations
- Project management
- Data and analytics
- Marketing
- Copywriting and communications
- HR and recruiting
- Finance and business operations
- Design
- Software and technology
- Research
- Process improvement
- Industry-specific expertise
During the evening, you'll move through a practical framework:
Professional Skill → Defined Client Problem → Service Offer → Outreach Plan → 30-Day Execution Roadmap
This is not a get-rich-quick seminar.
There are no income guarantees, trading schemes, MLM opportunities or promises that every professional skill can immediately become a profitable business.
The goal is to help you leave with a clearer offer and a practical next-step plan you can test responsibly.
What You'll Work On
1. Skill-to-Offer Audit
Start with the professional capabilities you already use.
Identify:
Problems you know how to solve
Work people regularly ask you for help with
Areas where you have credible experience
Potential business buyers
Work that could realistically be delivered as a defined service
Then turn that information into a simple first-pass service offer.
Output
One draft B2B service offer
2. Buyer & Problem Definition
A service becomes easier to sell when the buyer and problem are specific.
You'll work through:
- Who the buyer could be
- What problem they are already trying to solve
- Why your experience may be relevant
- What is included
- What is outside the scope
- What questions still need validation
Output
Buyer profile + problem statement
3. Offer Packaging & Pricing Logic
- Explore practical ways to structure a service without relying on arbitrary internet pricing formulas.
- Consider:
- Project-based work
- Defined service packages
- Retained advisory work
- Fractional support
- Scope boundaries
- Delivery effort
- Buyer value
- Your current level of experience
- Pricing decisions remain your responsibility.
- The workshop does not promise a particular rate, contract value or income level.
Output
First-pass service package and pricing framework
4. First-Conversation Outreach Plan
Build a professional outreach approach that does not depend on spam.
Explore:
- Warm introductions
- Former professional contacts
- Referral conversations
- Relevant professional communities
- Direct B2B outreach
- Simple follow-up
- You'll draft a small set of messages you can adapt after the event.
Output
Initial outreach message + follow-up framework
5. Facilitated Peer Mastermind
You'll join a table of approximately 5–6 professionals.
Each participant receives a focused feedback window to explain:
- The skill they want to monetize
- The buyer they are considering
- The problem they want to solve
- Their proposed service offer
- Peers then help pressure-test:
- Clarity
- Buyer fit
- Scope
- Positioning
- Possible objections
- Useful next questions
- This is collaborative feedback, not a public pitch competition.
- No participant is required to purchase services from another attendee.
6. 30-Day Execution Roadmap
Before leaving, turn your workshop notes into a practical four-week test.
Your plan may include:
- Offer refinement
- Buyer research
- Outreach conversations
- Pricing validation
- Portfolio or proof-of-work preparation
- Professional-boundary checks
- Weekly time allocation
Output
30-Day Client-Offer Test Plan
