About this Event

Join us at GCU for a screening of the People's Emergency Briefing (PEB). The film is adapted from the National Emergency Briefing (NEB), an event in November 2025 where more than 1,200 MPs, peers and leaders from business, culture, faith, sport and the media came together in London to discuss the Climate Emergency. The briefing was delivered by leading UK experts addressing the implications of climate and nature breakdown for food security, health, national security, infrastructure and the economy, alongside practical evidence on how risks can still be reduced. More information can be found on the NEB website.

The PEB screening event will comprise of a 50 minute film, followed by a 30 minute structured discussion.

Everyone is welcome to attend and no prior knowledge is required. Please note that the film was made with adult and older teenage audiences in mind; while it has a 12A rating from the BBFC (British Board of Film Classification), the Climate Psychology Alliance recommend that audiences be aged 16+. Please see their guidance here for more information.

This screening welcomes MSc Climate Justice student, Virginia McAll, who will be seeking volunteers to complete surveys before and after the screening, reflecting on the film. Her research seeks to investigate the use of documentary films as a tool for climate activism, considering whether documentaries are effective tools for advancing social movements.
