About this Event
What is a People's Assembly?
A peoples assembly is an open and free to attend meeting where community members gather to discuss an issue that is important to them. It is a chance to have your voice heard through a facilitated and inclusive discussion and contribute to generating ideas for change and making shared decisions.
We hope you'll join us for a day of conversation around the challenges and considerations the third-sector faces whilst using redistributed food, with the aim of collaborating on an answer to the question; what should the future of food redistribution look like?
During the event, we'll be joined by speakers from the Cyrenians Cook School, Felix and a Pastures for Life Farmer to share their perspectives on the challenges facing the third sector and food redistribution.
Interactive and small group discussions will ask participants to consider questiosn such as 'What constitutes a meal?'; 'What makes good food good?'; What is the role of government bodies and corporations to provide nutritious food?'.
Whether you work in the industry, volunteer for a food-based organisation or are an attendee at a food distribution or eating space, this is a inclusive and welcoming space to share you're thoughts and help shape a manifesto on what the future of food redistribution and provisioning should look like.
Lunch will be provided during this event, please email [email protected] with any dietary requirements.
