About this Event
Rachel de Thample is an award-winning author who has worked in food, health, and sustainability for more than 25 years. She’s written eight books, including Tonics and Teas and The River Cottage Fermentation Handbook, which won a Guild of Food Writer’s Award and was a Winter Wellness finalist for best cookbook. Her latest book (and the focus of this event) is The Fermentation Year: Everyday techniques and recipes to rewild your microbiome.
Kick off the festive season with this all-day deep-dive into numerous fermentation techniques. Amid the twinkling, fresh pine garlands adorning The Cookbook Shop, Rachel will lead us in crafting six different fermented foods and drinks. We'll pause in the middle to share a meal featuring many of the day's recipes in their more mature state.
