About this Event
Embark on a guided walking trail of spaces recognised by the President*s Design Award (P*DA) alongside the designers themselves. Hear the stories behind each design, from the first ideas to challenges they overcame, and see how these spaces serve the communities around them today.
There are two tours to choose from:
· Reimagining Built Heritage (Sat 17 October) takes participants to Redhill’s Delta Sport Centre and Enabling Village to see how two 1970s developments have found new life as thriving community hubs. Learn how weareSuper, a social enterprise by Supermama, is using art and design to reframe disability too.
· Designing with Nature (Sun 18 October) heads west to explore the Jurong Lake Gardens and SJ Campus which showcase how Singapore’s City in Nature vision is shaping the recreational and workspaces in the upcoming Jurong Innovation District.
Each tour begins at the National Museum of Singapore (NMS) with the P*DA20: Power of Singapore Design exhibition that commemorates 20 years of Singapore’s highest design honour. Curator Jackson Tan, a co-founder of BLACK, the creative agency behind the exhibition, and 2007 P*DA recipient under design collective Phunk, will take participants through the exhibition that brings together all 130 Designs of the Year and 47 Designers of the Year for the first time. The tour continues to two offsite locations of P*DA projects that you will get to discover alongside their designers!
The duration of each tour is 4 hours, tickets are S$10 ($12.49 incl. GST and platform fee) per participant, comprising a 50% deposit which will be returned upon attendance. Ticket fees will cover costs for two-way transport and light refreshments for each participant.

Reimagining Built Heritage
17 October 2026 (Saturday) 11am – 3pm OR 1pm – 5pm (Registration will begin 15 minutes before each tour)
Meeting point: National Museum of Singapore, Stamford Gallery
Starting from the P*DA20 exhibition, this tour takes you to Redhill, where two 1970s developments have found new life as thriving community hubs. The Delta Sport Centre was updated without erasing its architectural heritage, with an elevated linkway that joins its once-separate facilities and connects them to the surrounding estate. Nearby, the Enabling Village turned a former vocational institute into an inclusive space for everyone – from people with disabilities to neighbouring residents – to learn, work, and visit. It is also home to weareSuper, which uses art and design to reframe disability. The social enterprise is started by Supermama, which designed the Singapore Icons project. Discover how these P*DA-awarded projects used design to create more inclusive communities. There is also an opportunity at the Enabling Village to design your own ceramic vase to take home!

Designing with Nature
18 October 2026 (Sunday) 11am – 3pm OR 1 – 5pm (Registration will begin 15 minutes before each tour)
Meeting point: National Museum of Singapore, Stamford Gallery
Starting from the P*DA20 exhibition, this tour heads to Jurong, the home of Singapore’s first national garden in the heartlands and a nature-inspired corporate campus. Lakeside Garden in Jurong Lake Gardens was designed by P*DA Designer of the Year 2023, Leonard Ng, to exemplify Singapore’s vision of becoming a ‘City in Nature’. The SJ Campus in the industrial park, CleanTech Park, builds on this vision with “for everyone a garden”, weaving greenery into the heart of the workplace itself – receiving a P*DA Design of the Year 2025. Explore the evolving approach to designing sustainable environments in these two projects where green space serves both people and the ecology around them.
The tour will cover:
· P*DA20: Power of Singapore Design Exhibition
· Jurong Lake Gardens, Lakeside Garden
Led by Leonard Ng Keok Poh (Designer of the Year 2023)
Country Market Director, Henning Larsen, Asia-Pacific
