Paint your own Colorado beer mug. Then drink out of it for years.
You, a beer mug, a cold one, and a night out in the Santa Fe Arts District.
Join Sarah Gies Studio at Renegade Brewing for a laid-back paint night. We're painting a Colorado mountain beer mug: a big sunset sun over snowy peaks, with a hidden Colorado "C" on the bottom that you only find when you finish your beer. I'll walk you through it step by step so you can relax, sip, and surprise yourself. Never picked up a brush? Perfect. This is for everybody, not just people who already think they're artsy.
WHY YOU'LL LOVE IT
- The hidden "C." Tip your mug back and a Colorado flag "C" shows up on the bottom. Best reveal of the night.
- You make something you'll actually use, every single time you pour a cold one.
- Holiday gift, handled. Early December is perfect timing: paint one to give away (or keep it, I won't tell).
- A small group. Just 16 seats in Renegade's back bar, so I get to help every single person.
WHAT'S INCLUDED
- A guided painting session with Denver artist Sarah Gies
- Your glass beer mug, paint, brushes and apron. I bring all of it.
- Your finished mug to take home, plus a care card so it lasts
THE PLAN
- 6:00 PM: doors. Grab your seat and a beer.
- 6:30 PM: we start painting.
- 9:00 PM: you walk out with your own hand-painted mug.
CARING FOR YOUR MUG
- Bake to cure (recommended): set your mug on a baking tray in a cold oven, set the oven to 325°F for 30 minutes, then turn it off and let the mug cool slowly inside. Cracking the oven door is fine, but don't take it out into cool air while it's hot or it can crack. Give it 72 hours to finish setting.
- No oven? Let it air-dry for 21 days. Air-dried mugs are hand wash only.
- Baked mugs should be dishwasher safe, but I still recommend hand washing.
GOOD TO KNOW
- Only 16 seats. When they're gone, they're gone.
- 21+ (it's Renegade's back bar).
- Coming with friends? Buy together, or tell me at checkout who you're sitting with and I'll seat you together.
- Wear something you don't mind getting a little paint on. I supply an apron.
- Drinks are on your own tab at Renegade's bar. Their bartenders take good care of us, so tip them.
- Photos: I'll snap a few photos during the night to share on social. If you'd rather not be in them, just let me know.
- Refunds up to 7 days before the event. After that, your ticket can go to a friend.
