About this Event
Join South London rapper Consensus for an exclusive in-person rap writing workshop and discussion. Come ready to write, share ideas, and connect through conversation.
This is a fun, creative session on ways to write and perform technical themes and topics—learn how to take ideas as complex as astronomy, particle physics, and the origins of the universe and express them as poetry and rap. No science degree needed: just bring your pen, your ideas, and some energy.
Consensus blends hip-hop, grime, and jungle on his album Original ConScience, exploring the “Origins of the Universe” through sharp lyricism and standout showmanship. He has led discussions and performed at Johns Hopkins and Cambridge University, with acclaim from BBC Radio 1Xtra, BBC Radio 6, BBC World News, and the Financial Times. His CERN-backed project ConCERNed has toured Europe, North America, and Africa, and he has collaborated with CERN, Fermilab, and the Ontario Science Centre.
Expect high-energy rap, big ideas, and plenty of room to write.
