In the lecture the artist explores an ongoing practice rooted inexistential inquiry, material research, and organic cycles. Driven by the need to include everyday life in the creative process, the approach remains deeply lived rather than merely an exercise in formal experimentation. The presentation delves into how raw matter—spanning classical pigments to the domestic alchemy of the kitchen—acts as an active collaborator across time and space.

Elsa Dóróthea Gísladóttir - about the artist:
Throughout her career, Elsa has held numerous exhibitions. In her
practice, raw matter serves as the foundational vocabulary of research into impermanence, material reclamation, living systems, sustainability, natural physical laws, and the subtle, metaphysical dimensions of existence. Within both the studio and exhibition spaces, temporal and spatial processes are set in motion to explore material possibilities and impossibilities in unforeseen ways. Her methodology is multidisciplinary, working across diverse media—two- and three-dimensional forms, installations, printmaking, and performative media—guided entirely by the nature of each inquiry.
