About this Event
Join us for a day of Palestinian music, exhibits, performances, & children’s activities! Historically, families in Palestine gather every October or November around their olive trees and carry on the tradition of the Olive Harvest. While picking olives, they sing Palestinian folk songs, dance, and honor their land. Unfortunately, for decades these families have been attacked by Israeli settlers. Despite this, Palestinians continue to resist by picking their olives every year. In honor of our people on the ground, we will be donating a portion of the vendor proceeds to The Palestine Diabetes Institute. The rest of the proceeds will go towards supporting the small businesses listed below.

- 12:30pm | Chickens of Ein Karam: Kids Story Time & Crafts with Jasmine Hawamdeh
- 2:00pm | Sada Al-Thawra Choir: A Palestinian/Arab choir singing traditional Palestinian folk songs
- 3:00pm | Poetry Reading w/ Mohammed Arafat, a local DC poet from Gaza
- 3:30pm | Painting the Homeland: Sneak Peak Art Exhibit by Nashwa Shammout, storytelling presented by her daughter, Reham
- 4:00pm | Malikat Al Dabke: Dabke led by an all-Arab Women's Debka group
