A 10-mile / 16km circular trail up to the top of Coniston Old Man (802m high). This is another of the iconic, must-do, Wainwrights. An absolute delight with stunning views.We'll be starting from just outside Coniston and heading round the base of the 'Old Man', continuing up to Brown Pike and Dow Crag, descending to Goats Hause, then ascending onto the ridge of Brim Fell and along to the top of Coniston Old Man. The descent is via the 'tourist track' through the old quarries and mining areas back towards the village.
So you'll have at least 3 Wainwrights ticked off in one walk. This is a moderate to hard walk, but there is no scrambling involved. A good level of fitness is required, however, please rest assured that our Grand Scale Trails are led by a qualified and experienced Mountain Leader, who will support you and encourage you along the way. We will have plenty of rest breaks and walk as a group at all times.
You will be able to experience a true mountain trail with an experienced Mountain Leader, enjoy spectacular views, and ultimately feel an incredible sense of achievement.
Investment: £45 per person or £85 for a couple

Well behaved / friendly dogs (with people and other dogs) are welcome, but make sure they are capable and bear in mind that we are likely to encounter livestock and steep edges in places, so leads are needed.
Please arrange your own transport and accommodation, if required. However, if you would like me to help arrange car pooling, this will be an option, also.
We recommend having insurance to cover, at a minimum: cancellation and curtailment.
