About this Event
Join OG Youth Collective for a series of connected workshops exploring identity, photography, materials, making and imagined futures.
Our upcoming exhibition, Who Wears the Future?, asks us to think about what we wear, what we carry, what other people can see about us and what remains unseen. During this creative programme, you can experiment with different materials, develop your own ideas and potentially create work to be shown as part of October Gallery’s Education Exhibition in January 2027.
You do not need to arrive with a finished idea or already think of yourself as an artist. Come to make, experiment, talk, try things out and see where your ideas take you.
You can sign up for as many of the sessions as you can do. Attending several sessions will give you more time to develop your ideas and work, but you do not have to attend every date.
Young people who take part across the programme will receive an October Gallery certificate recognising their creative development and contribution to Who Wears the Future?. Those who complete the full programme and contribute towards the exhibition will be recognised as an OG Youth Collective Young Exhibition Fellow, providing useful evidence for portfolios, college or university applications and future creative opportunities.

03: Developing Ideas – Imagining Future Spaces
What might the spaces we inhabit look like in the future? How can colour, images and ideas help us imagine new possibilities?
For this Youth Collective session, we will be working with the Grimshaw Foundation to explore drawing, design and AI visualisation technology as ways of imagining possible futures.
Focussing on October Gallery Artist Romuald Hazoumé’s to explore how the artist uses colour, materials and found objects to express ideas about identity, the world around us and hopes for the future.
We will experiment with colour, words and quick drawings before exploring how images can be transformed through AI visualisation technology. Working from sketches and using written prompts, we will investigate how imagined spaces might develop and change, thinking about the places we inhabit and the possibilities for future environments.
The session is part of our developing Youth Collective exhibition, Who Wears the Future?, which explores how clothing, costume and cultural traditions can express identity, heritage and imagined futures.
Bring along your sketchbook, any experiments or unfinished ideas from previous sessions, or simply come ready to try something new.
No previous experience is needed.
Please note: We will meet at Grimshaw Foundation.
