About this Event
What happens when the light disappears?
For photographer Steven Collins, darkness isn't the absence of light. It's where another way of seeing begins.
Join Leica Bellevue for Light of the Dark, an exhibition of Collins' nighttime photography exploring Seattle and Tokyo through light, shadow, color, architecture and the moments that emerge after dark.
The evening begins with an opening reception surrounded by Steven's work, followed by an artist conversation exploring the photographs, the places behind them, and his approach to making images at night.
Seattle and Tokyo provide a natural dialogue. Two cities shaped by water, architecture, density and light, experienced through the perspective of a photographer who has spent considerable time walking and photographing both.
Come for the photographs. Stay for the conversation.
Noct-Ober.24 | Light of the Dark is the culmination of Noct-Ober, following Afterlight and The Nightstand and bringing the month back to Leica Bellevue for an evening centered on the storied photograph and the photographer behind it.
