Get ready for a globe-trotting musical adventure as Nicky Bomba’s Bustamento takes over LIVE@ The Grand Room for a night bursting with rhythm, colour, musicianship and infectious energy.
Led by acclaimed musician, drummer and charismatic frontman Nicky Bomba, Bustamento takes its foundations in reggae, ska, calypso and Caribbean music and sends them travelling around the world.
Think Jamaican reggae and Trinidadian calypso colliding with New Orleans grooves, Motown soul, African horns, Pacific rhythms, Latin flavours and Mediterranean influences — all delivered with Bustamento’s unmistakable sense of fun.
This is a band built around musical adventure.
The chemistry runs deep. Bustamento brings together musicians who have shared stages and musical journeys with Nicky across his celebrated projects, including Bomba and the Melbourne Ska Orchestra, creating a live band that is incredibly tight, spontaneous and always ready to take the music somewhere unexpected.

The evening begins. Arrive early, settle in, order a cocktail and enjoy the atmosphere of The Grand Room before the show.
6:00 PM – 9:30 PM — Dinner Service
Take your seat and enjoy dinner at The Grand Room, from À La Carte dining to our Premium Table and exclusive Grand Booth experiences.
8:30 PM — NICKY BOMBA’S BUSTAMENTO TAKES THE STAGE
The room comes alive as Nicky Bomba’s Bustamento launches into a joyous musical journey across continents, cultures and rhythms.
From reggae, ska and calypso to New Orleans grooves, soul, African rhythms and beyond, Bustamento brings together a world of influences in one wonderfully energetic live performance.
Expect exceptional musicianship, infectious grooves, plenty of personality and the unmistakable energy of Nicky Bomba leading one seriously accomplished band.
And yes — bring your dancing shoes.
11:30 PM — LIVE MUSIC CONCLUDES
The live show concludes, but Friday night doesn't have to. Stay for drinks, music and the late-night atmosphere of The Grand Room.
