About this Event
Join the New Hope AME Church and the Historic Preservation Studio to learn about the history of Buckhead’s longest surviving African American church community. In 2026, the city of Atlanta designated New Hope AME Church & Cemeteries as the city’s newest Landmark Building & Site. Dr. La’Neice Littleton, a congregation member and Community Engagement Specialist at the Atlanta History Center, and Elizabeth Clappin, a planner with the Historic Preservation Studio, will discuss the church's history and how landmark designation is helping preserve the church and its cemeteries for the future. Lunch will be provided.
