About this Event
National Tree Week is running from 21-29 November to mark the start of tree planting season and give people across the country a chance to celebrate the living monuments surrounding us. This year's theme is Trees Near You, celebrating trees that are part of our everyday lives.
It is so easy to not notice the trees that you pass every day, but developing the skill of identifying trees can quickly change this. Recognising the species around you is a great way to connect with nature and notice the world around you, making you more mindful and present, while also being a better custodian for your local trees and wildlife.
So if you're struggling to separate your Sycamores from your Norway maples, your Beeches from your Hornbeams or you're not even sure what you're looking up at most of the time, join Tom for one of his monthly Tree ID Walks across Southwark and equip yourself with the tools to more confidently put a leaf, bud or flower to a name.
