About this Event
Nat Evans performs his new album What Are Days For. Written over the course of three years, this new album by Nat Evans considers the grief of losing loved ones, relationships with plants, surfing, home, and the light of the west coast.
Fuzzy radios, bass and warm guitar tones drift through field recordings and clouds of synthesizers humming along. Like a surreal baroque dream, a Buchla synthesizer and fretless bass duet give way to washes of pedal steel and a fretless bass solo in conversation with a weather radio. An immersive, ever shifting series of landscapes.
What Are Days For was released September 11th on Heavy Weather Records. The album is being released on limited edition vinyl, and available streaming everywhere.
The Electric Guitar Ensemble performs music for different combinations of electric guitar and bass. It features performers from Santa Cruz and the Bay Area. Its repertoire includes works that explore improvisation, alternative notation, process-based structures, and extended techniques. Performing music by Catherine Lamb, Rodrigo Barriga, and others.
