About this Event
A Psychology Series evening led by Sunday Sounds Good
Join Evangelos Gkaldanidis, Registered Clinical Counsellor at Nightingale Counselling, for an evening exploring narcissism beyond the labels. From partners and parents to friendships, we’ll look at how these relationships can unfold, the patterns they may share, and ways to navigate them with greater understanding.
What we’ll explore:
- Narcissism explained: The difference between a clinical diagnosis, narcissistic traits and the way we use the word in everyday life.
- Overt and covert narcissism: What these terms describe, with examples of more obvious and less visible patterns.
- Different relationships, shared patterns: How narcissistic dynamics can show up with a partner, parent or friend—and how the experience can differ.
- Making sense of the language: Common terms used to describe manipulation, control and recurring relationship patterns.
- The emotional and physical impact: Feelings and stress-related physical symptoms people may experience following emotionally harmful relationships.
- Finding a way forward: Approaches to boundaries, communication and navigating difficult relationships, including recognising when more support is needed.
