About this Event

N The Pocket is a two-hour, open-level dance intensive + industry workshop with Shadae Simone, created for performers who want to strengthen both their craft and the way they navigate their career.

Because talent is a prerequisite. What you do with it is the work.

PART I: DANCE INTENSIVE

We’ll get in our bodies and get to work. Expect intention-setting, performance fundamentals, choreography, and group work focused on translating your movement for both the stage and camera.

This is an open-level space. Come ready to move, challenge yourself, and have fun.

PART II: INDUSTRY WORKSHOP

Then we’re getting off the floor and talking about everything that happens around performing.

Drawing from my experience across commercial dance, ballroom, burlesque, teaching, producing, and live entertainment, we’ll have an honest conversation about navigating the performance industry and building a career with range.

We’ll cover expanding into new markets, approaching new opportunities, negotiation and pricing, headshots and reels, positioning yourself professionally, standing out, and the do’s and don’ts I’ve learned along the way.

We’ll close with an open Q&A, so bring your questions, the ones you’ve always wanted to ask and the ones you didn’t know you needed to.
