Join Muslim Women Connect for a creative Risograph Induction Workshop at Rabbits Road Press, as part of our Skills Development Series.
Rabbits Road Press is a community Risograph print studio and publishing press based at Old Manor Park Library in East London. Run by OOMK, the studio supports artists, designers and community groups to explore independent publishing, printmaking and creative practice.
What is Risograph printing?
Risograph, or Riso, is a stencil-based printing process that combines elements of screen printing and photocopying. Known for its bold colours, layered textures and distinctive imperfections, it is widely used to create posters, zines, illustrations and other printed work.
What you'll learn
During this hands-on induction, you'll be introduced to the Rabbits Road Press workspace and learn how to use the Risograph machine.
You'll have the opportunity to:
- Learn the basics of Risograph printing and how the machine works
- Experiment with colour, layering and composition
- Create your own A4 design or collage
- Print your design in two colours
- Take home copies of your finished print
No previous printing or design experience is needed – the session is designed to be accessible, practical and a chance to experiment creatively.
