There are many challenges as well as opportunities for biodiversity conservation in our changing world. Rachel will be sharing her lived experience, scientific learnings, and reflections as researcher and educator.Professor Rachel Standish was born in Fremantle and spent her childhood playing in banksia woodlands near her home. Currently she is a research and teaching academic at Murdoch University. In research, she is motivated to learn how our state’s unique vegetation communities recover from disturbance and respond to climate change to inform their restoration and conservation.
Rachel’s primary role is to inspire the next generation of ecologists and conservation biologists. She feels privileged to live and work in Western Australia and loves that science combines creativity with logic to show how we can care for Country.
