Moving to Portugal Show & Seminars - Edinburgh, 12 November 2026

In response to continued and growing interest from Scots considering a new life abroad, the Moving to Portugal Show will return to Edinburgh on Thursday, 12th November 2026, following the success of last year’s inaugural event.

The event will once again take place at the iconic Scotsman Hotel, 20 North Bridge, Edinburgh EH1 1TR, and is organised by the Portuguese Chamber of Commerce.

Interest in residency, property acquisition and long-term relocation planning has continued to rise in Scotland, driven by Portugal’s international reputation for quality of life, climate, safety and favourable tax framework. For many Scots, the appeal lies in combining lifestyle change with practical financial planning and secure long-term residency options.

Improved air connectivity further supports this interest. Direct flights from Edinburgh and Glasgow now connect to Lisbon, Porto and Faro on the mainland, as well as Funchal in Madeira, making exploration visits and onward relocation significantly more accessible.

The 2026 edition will expand on last year’s format, with a comprehensive programme of expert-led seminars covering visa pathways, tax planning, UK pension transfers, property acquisition, healthcare access and relocation logistics. Visitors will also have the opportunity to book one-to-one consultations with Portugal specialists and explore a curated exhibition of property developers, legal advisers, tax experts and relocation professionals.
