About this Event
FREE • 2 HOURS • 20 SPOTS • NO PARKOUR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
What can parkour teach us about movement, plyometrics, play, and athletic development?
Movement Graffiti is a free, two-hour, hands-on workshop for coaches, rehab specialists, and other movement professionals in the Denver Metro Area who are curious about bringing new ideas and approaches into their practice.
Led by Max Henry, veteran parkour coach, the workshop will introduce foundational parkour movements while exploring how parkour concepts are currently being used - and could be used even more effectively - in physical therapy, sports performance, and athletic development.
You'll have the opportunity to learn new movement skills, experiment with different ways of approaching familiar physical challenges, and expand your movement vocabulary through the lens of parkour.
What You'll Explore
This is a hands-on introduction to foundational parkour movements and concepts. We'll explore:
- Basic vaults - different ways to move over obstacles efficiently and creatively
- Ground work - developing coordination and movement options on the ground
- Balance - building control across different surfaces
- Precision jumping & plyometrics - exploring jumping, landing, accuracy, and force production through a parkour-informed lens
- Basic swinging techniques - developing confidence and coordination in hanging/swinging movement patterns
- Vertical surfaces - using walls for hanging, jumping, and some acrobatics
The goal isn't to master every skill in two hours. It's to experience a broader range of movement possibilities, learn a few new tricks, and consider how these ideas might translate into your own work with athletes and patients.
Who Is This For?
Registration is specifically intended for movement professionals.
This workshop is designed for:
- Physical therapists
- Rehab specialists
- Strength & conditioning coaches
- Sports performance coaches
- Athletic trainers
- Other professionals who work directly with movement
No previous parkour experience is required.
You don't need to be exceptionally athletic. You just need to be curious about movement and willing to try something new.
Scalable for Different Abilities
If you're working around an injury or other physical limitation, you're still encouraged to attend. You won't be expected to perform every movement or participate at the same intensity as everyone else.
There are no formal physical prerequisites beyond the ability to jump and hang from a bar. Participants should use their own judgment and work within their individual capabilities.
A waiver will be required to participate.
More Than a Workshop
Movement Graffiti is also an opportunity to connect Denver-area professionals who are interested in new and unconventional approaches to movement, plyometrics, play, sports performance, and sports therapy.
The formal workshop runs from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Afterward, participants are invited to continue the conversation and enjoy some coffee at:
Corvus Coffee Roasters
4925 S Newport St
