About this Event
Have you ever completed a project only to find some leftover fabric that seems too small to use? Do you gather textiles without a specific plan and struggle to find ways to use them, yet still love every piece? Or do you ultimately think your hat collection needs more flair and want to add some pizzazz to your wardrobe?
Join us at Chroma Colour Textiles for a Sunday workshop where participants will have fun cutting, embellishing, and sewing a lined, adjustable beret using remnant and vintage textiles and trims. Applique, heat transfer, beading and patchwork are some techniques that may be used for beret personalization. This workshop promotes circularity, slow fashion principles and the sustainable practice of upcycling. This workshop is appropriate for all levels of sewers. Handwork skills are advantageous, but not necessary. All makers are welcome.
All materials are provided at a cost, but participants are welcome to bring their own fabrics or embellishments.
Each participant will leave with a completed beret!
This class is 4 hrs + 1 hr lunch. Students are encouraged to take a break at any of the lovely neighborhood cafes and restaurants including Impact Kitchen, Sud Forno etc
