It’s finally sweater season! If you’re like me, you may have a pile of sweaters you’ve been meaning to mend for far too long. This October, let’s give those beloved garments a new life with needle-felted mending.
We’ll be working with local wool, processed and dyed at Nobletown Fiber Works, and exploring creative ways to turn a repair into a feature.
Bring a wool sweater with a small hole or two and learn how to mend it using this simple technique. Needle felting works best on wool and other animal fibers, rather than cotton or synthetic materials.
No holes to mend? No problem! Bring a wool sweater you’d like to adorn, or create a felted patch to sew onto another type of garment, such as a denim jacket or pair of jeans.
This workshop will take place at Nobletown Fiber Works, the Hudson Valley's newest artisan spinning mill.
