We are beyond thrilled that one of our very favorite authors, Bill Landay, is coming for a conversation at Books & Cake on our bookstore birthday, October 24! We have long loved Bill's novels, including , which was recently named one of the 50 best thrillers of the 21st century--and very deservedly so if you ask us (which they did not). Bill is going to answer our questions about his books and other thrillers he has loved; we'll ask about movies and shows, too, including what it was like when Defending Jacob was adapted by Apple TV into a limited series. He'll take your questions, too. Please join us for this very exciting birthday gathering!

And here's a more complete bio: William Landay is the author of All That Is Mine I Carry With Me and three previous novels: Defending Jacob, which won the Strand Critics Award for best mystery novel; The Strangler, listed as a best crime novel of the year by the L.A. Times, Daily Telegraph and others; and Mission Flats, winner of the Dagger Award for best first crime novel. A former assistant district attorney, he lives in Boston.
