HGS Home Chef presents Thursday night mini classes, a new format in our cooking tutorials. Held on the occasional Thursday from 5-6pm these in-person classes focus on specific techniques or pantry items intended to expand your home cooking skills and flavor game. Instead of our more costly, 2.5-hour classes, followed by full meals, these weekday mini classes offer instruction, recipes, tastings and expert advice, all for just $45.
Come to HGS Home Chef and experience the Golden Art of Ghee making. Ghee (clarified butter) is a beautiful, golden colored oil created by lovingly separating the milkfat from butter. This high-heat oil can be used to sauté or added to soups and stews. It is the oil base for many Indian recipes and can be seasoned and flavored in a plethora of ways.
In this class, you will learn the basics, how to make it, flavor it, and a variety of ways to play with Ghee. You will leave class with recipes and inspiration to use this classic ingredient in a variety of ways, plus your own little jar of Ghee to use at home.
This one-hour demonstration class and tasting is limited to ten people
About Kogetsu:
Ko is a certified Ayurvedic Practitioner who is passionate about the power of food to heal. After her Ayurvedic Training she spent many years traveling around Europe honing her palate in Spain, Germany and Italy. From 2021 to 2023 she was the chef at Random Harvest, pumping out nourishing soups, flavorful salads and yummy little meals. Ko has spent the last few years catering for large and small events all through our community and expanding her knowledge of local edible plants and herbs - playing with the bounty that grows all around us. Get ready to taste your way into balanced and flavorful foods.
