Calling all early- and mid-career researchers and clinicians interested in the development of health technologies – this is not your ordinary workshop!
Taking academic research through the commercialisation pathway requires a diverse skillset beyond research. In this workshop, you'll be guided by experienced facilitators to practice a range of skills, helping you transform from a researcher into an entrepreneur and project leader.
Guided by the facilitators and working in groups, you will practice how to:
- transform a problem into an impactful solution
- validate that you are solving a ‘real’ problem
- develop an effective team and project timeline
- consider commercial feasibility
- build new collaborative partnerships
- work on your own project or explore other project ideas
This dynamic environment will help you succeed in your projects, advance your career, and expand your professional network across Aotearoa New Zealand. Past participants have gone on to:

Who should attend this workshop?
Join us for this exclusive two-day workshop designed for early- and mid-career researchers (EMCRs) and clinicians throughout New Zealand who are interested in developing health technologies.
Travel funding is available for EMCRs outside of Auckland. The travel fund application will close on 7 October.

Event details:
- Location: Room 341, Faculty of Arts and Education, 12 Symonds Street, Grafton, Auckland 1010.
- Cost: $75.00 (incl. GST and booking fee). Catering provided.
- By registering for this workshop, you confirm your availability to attend all scheduled sessions in person: Day 1 workshop (9 am – 5 pm), networking event (5 pm – 6 pm), and Day 2 workshop (9 am – 4 pm).
- If you are unable to attend, you must inform us at least 7 days in advance by contacting the person who sent the calendar invite.
- Refunds are available for cancellations made up to 7 days before the workshop. Once the catering has been confirmed, the payment is non-refundable.
