A northwest native, Dr. Joanne Halverson lived off-grid in the wilderness for many years and continues to do so part-time. Joanne has 40 years experience as a clinical psychologist, artist, lecturer, writer, retreat leader, and engages deeply with several Indigenous spiritual leaders. Currently, she leads groups and retreats in the wildlands. Her stories and articles have appeared in numerous publications. She emphasizes the importance of restoring the torn connections in our personal and cultural lives. She has studied in depth around the matriarchy traditions particularly through the Salish Sea teachings with Johnny Moses.
