Paving the Way: New Beginnings! Join us for this first ever Fernhill event in our new dance home location. Let’s warm up the space for the rest of the community! What does it look like as men to “Pave the Way”? How do we lead and model in such a way that Others will follow? Certainly part of the formula here is having clear, defined, relatable values that we can convey to Others, or Clarity. Then there is upholding and/or demonstrating those values through our actions, or Integrity. Also, there is attunement to where and how it is appropriate to reconsider or let go or take in new information, or Flexibility. And finally, well, perhaps there are other important qualities to bring into this discussion. Join us as we feel into the role of the mature masculine as leader or model at this first ManDance of the season.
We will open with a circle, where we will briefly create an intentional space to see and be seen by sharing our thoughts. Then we will move into a men's only ecstatic dance container, where we'll have a chance to get primal, get real, get spirit-y, get connected, and get down! As always, in keeping with the ecstatic vibe, it'll be a choose your own adventure scenario, but we will provide some structural pieces to allow for the whole range of masculine energies to show up: from slower, contact improv-y to more rough and tumble vibes.
This is a container for anyone who identifies as a man. Queer and trans friendly.

Bring drums or other percussive elements! We'll have an organic breakdown mid-set where we drop out the amplified sound and get our groove on the old fashioned way.
