LÁLÁ – BETWEEN WORLDSSUBTERRANEAN CURRENTS
Subterranean Currents connects Salvador and Aotearoa, water and sound, presence and distance, as if creative expressions could travel through an invisible current between places.
From Brazil, visual artist May H.D. reimagines natural ecosystems through gesture, shadow and painting. In Aotearoa, Matt Sephton enters natural environments to capture their hidden acoustic life through field recordings and sound.
Together, their works explore what exists beneath the visible surface: air, water, roots, movement, resonance and the living spaces between things.
Their visual and sonic worlds will flow alongside music by DJ Gabriella Gonzalez and Suzy 4tons, creating an afternoon of deep listening, movement and connection.
LÁLÁ – Between Worlds is a meeting place for music and visual art; a space for unexpected encounters between people, languages, ideas and territories.
