Conceived in the aftermath of 9/11, Sleeping Beauty Conscience returns twenty-five years later as a prophetic piece exploring collective sleep, manipulated consciousness, control, fear and the manufacture of innocence. Filmed on a Canon ZR10, edited with Apple’s early iMovie software, with sound improvised from children’s toys and voices generated through a Mac synthesizer.
The Dolphin Conspiracy (2010) begins: “The peak of a conspiracy is the coincidence.” Nature has decided to rid itself of humanity, while dolphins conceive a plan for human survival: a “Planetic Exodus.” But there is no final destination. Eden was never found.
The two experimental films will be shown within an installation by Lydia Venieri, transforming Red Carpet Project Space.
