About this Event
Evie Waddell Band is drawn to Gaelic and Scots songs—old and new—and celebrates folk music as a living, breathing conduit for anger, joy and a bit of party chaos. The band brings traditional material into new and unexpected territory, finding wit and bite in both the music and the stories within it. What you can expect is a mixture of beat, body and mischief, pulling in whatever each song asks of them: the rhythmic drive of rap and puirt-a-beul, flashes of pop-punk energy, a touch of camp, sincerity, or movement-based storytelling that lets them take up space.
This concert is generously supported by the Ferguson Bequest.
