About this Event
A visual art installation, a sculpture, a library, a museum, a curiosity, a venue, consisting solely of one novel, 1,984 copies of George Orwell’s iconic novel 1984, donated and sourced from around the world. ‘The Library’ forms a living, touring artwork and a forum for creativity, curiosity and conversation.
To mark the opening, Hans K Clausen will say a few words about the exhibition and his work, offering an opportunity to hear directly from the artist about the ideas and creative process behind the installation.
Visitors are invited to join us for drinks and canapés and to explore the exhibition following the launch.
The Winston Smith Library of Victory & Truth will run from 2-20 November 2026 in the Advanced Research Centre, University of Glasgow and is part of the POLART Presents series bringing together three weeks of research, conversations, engagement and activity centred around the thought-provoking art installation.
