Longhorns Are Readers — Fall 2026 Meeting
A Book Club of the Texas Exes San Antonio Chapter
Join us for our Fall 2026 Longhorns Are Readers meeting — an evening of great conversation, community, and a little Texas true crime.
We’ll be discussing our Fall pick, Last Gangster in Austin: Frank Smith, Ronnie Earle, and the End of a Junkyard Mafiaby Jesse Sublett, a gripping piece of only-in-Austin history published by our partners at the University of Texas Press. Come ready to share your thoughts, your reactions, and your best theories.
We’ll also be choosing our Winter 2026 book together as a group. Every member gets a voice. Come with your nominations ready.
We’ll be gathering at Elsewhere Too — a fantastic San Antonio spot with great food and drinks available for purchase. Come early, settle in, and enjoy the atmosphere before we dive into the discussion.
This community book club is open to all UT alumni, family members, friends, and fans. No Longhorn degree required, just a love of great books and the Longhorn spirit.
To officially join Longhorns Are Readers, please submit our member sign-up form at . Once you sign up, you’ll receive a welcome email with your exclusive 40% discount code on all University of Texas Press titles — valid on any book, any time.
Come meet your fellow readers and keep this community growing. Hook ’Em! 🤘🏻
Longhorns Are Readers is a special initiative of the Texas Exes San Antonio Chapter President.
