About this Event

What is the Listening Hour?

A 2-hours connection and empathy space (+ time for coffee and cake) hosted by people with experience of Nonviolent Communication (NVC) for anyone who wishes to increase social connection, improve listening skills and be welcomed in a strong and caring community.

The Listening Hour at Jamyang usually takes place on the 3rd Saturday of each month. Please check the schedule for confirmed dates. Please note, our next December session 2025 will be at one of the host's home close to Brixton, South London, due to Jamyang being closed for winter break. We will send you the exact location once you have registered your spot.

We recommend participants watch for the format & guidelines of the session and also learn about Nonviolent Communication .

1. Key Benefits of Improving Listening Skills

Better Relationships – Strengthens personal and professional relationships through understanding.
Conflict Resolution – Turns arguments into conversations where both sides feel heard.
Emotional Clarity – Helps you express your feelings and needs without blame.
Empathy & Connection – Encourages deep listening and compassion.
Self-Awareness – Helps you understand your own triggers and needs.

By improving listening to ourselves and to others, we shift from reacting to responding with awareness, creating more meaningful and peaceful interactions.
