In Just Rights: The Canadian Charter in Troubled Times Bakan calls for a new conversation about the role of courts and the Charter in protecting constitutional values of social justice and equality as governments, under the influence of neoliberal and illiberal ideologies, ignore and attack those values. Bakan will present the book and engage with the audience and a panel of legal luminaries - Brenda Cossman, Sujit Choudhry, Richard Mailey, and Emily Kidd White. After the panel, discussion will continue over drinks and light refreshments at a reception. Copies of Just Rights will be available for sale and signing at the event.
